It was a small meeting this Wednesday but we had a good planning session. Here are some of the things discussed :

CBC RADIO’S RAVEN CONTEST

Bill Reid’s given Haida name was “Solitary Raven”. He loved the Raven: the trickster and transformer, hero and scoundrel of Haida mythology. Reid gave us breathtaking sculptures including Raven releasing the first men from the clamshell.

In celebration of Bill Reid’s birthday this month, we invite you to create a short story, or a poem, or a song featuring this beautiful, wily bird! Be inspired by Bill Reid and be as creative as you can because the the Grand Prize winner will win a week of adventure in Haida Gwaii!

Writing Assignments
We took time to write assignment ideas on some little pieces of paper (hat tip Leslie) and put them in an envelope. At the end of the meeting we drew one out - this week's assignment is

"A ROAD TRIP"

Do what you will with that.
